City of Toccoa recognizes Sixth Grade Essay Contest Winners
Second Place Winner: Connor Roberts
If I were mayor I would try to bring in more businesses to strengthen the economy and make life more enjoyable. I would also clean up Toccoa. I don't think anybody else wants to live in some rundown and dirty town. I would also put taxes to good use and not just waste them.
First I think if we could get some fancy and nice restaurants instead of fast food restaurants more people would come here to eat. These people coming to eat here would help us bring in more money than before. Also bringing in new industries would create more job opportunities for the people who live here.
Next I think cleaning up our city would make it more pleasant to live in and also to visit. Cleaning it would also help the environment by lessening pollution. We could have more and also cleaner parks for people to enjoy along with a cleaner downtown.
People may not like paying taxes, but that's just part of life. I just don't think it's right to pay taxes if they're not being put to good use. Things like improving schools and improving local police departments, fire departments, and hospitals are the kind of things taxes should be used for.
In conclusion, I think my city would be a nicer, cleaner, and all-around better place if these ideas were used. These are some of the things I would do if I were mayor.
