Arts and Culture
The City of Toccoa offers a rich environment for artistic, creative and cultural activities. The city commission took steps in 2012 to assure the future of Toccoa's performing arts center and encourages a variety of cultural activities.
The Toccoa Symphony performs a regular series of annual concerts throughout the year at various locations in Stephens County. For theater lovers, the Historic Ritz Theatre provides a wide assortment of theatrical programming, musical series, and other special events and acts.
The city sponsors the Currahee Arts Festival every Spring, which is held anually in conjunction with Toccoa's newest event, Toast of Toccoa, a celebration of the arts, beer, and wine. The Harvest Festival occurs in October and is North Georgia’s premier fall harvest event, with many arts, crafts, and various locally produced foods.
The streets or Toccoa come alive with the sound of music every Saturday evening in the summer as the Ida Cox Music Series brings a variety of music genres to the stage.
Of course, December brings out the Festival of Trees, which provides a fun and vibrantly festive atmosphere that benefits local nonprofits.
