The City of Toccoa Police Department is a community-oriented, full-service police department providing the highest quality public safety and law enforcement services to people who live, work and play in the Heart of Northeast Georgia. Toccoa Police are active in the community and dedicated to providing quality services in a timely and efficient manner.
The Police Department is located on the first floor of Toccoa City Hall, also known as the Toccoa Municipal Building. You can access the Police Department through its main entrance, located on Doyle St. The Police Department is open for report copies, fine payment, and any other regular police department business Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The police dispatch number is 706-779-3911. Anyone who needs the police for non-emergencies should call that number. This is also the telephone number for after-hours service for the City of Toccoa Gas, Water, and Public Works Departments.
The regular police telephone number for residents who wish to speak with an officer is 706-282-3244 Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. untl 5 p.m.
There is an emergency telephone in the front lobby of the Police Department for after-hours. As always, please call 911 if you have an emergency.
The Mission of the Toccoa Police Department is to maintain social order and safety through fair and impartial enforcement of the law.
The department is staffed by a well balanced force of bright, educated, resourceful, community oriented officers with significant training and experience.
Police department personnel are trained to handle a variety of situations including: crisis intervention, barricaded subjects, rapid-response to school incidents, rapid-response to workplace incidents, homicide investigations, sexual assault investigations, crime scene preservation, crime scene photography, accident investigation, robbery/burglary investigation, suicide intervention, family/domestic violence intervention, drug investigations and community policing.
