Stephens County High School band

Toccoa is home to a highly-regarded public school system, Toccoa Falls College and North Georgia Technical College offering local and area residents a wide range of educational opportunities.

Stephens County Public Schools

The Stephens County School System serves more than 4,000 students in four elementary schools, one middle school, one comprehensive high school and one alternative school. Two elementary schools, the middle school and the high school are located here in Toccoa.

Stephens County High School has been honored as a National School of Excellence and all schools are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

System-wide the curriculum includes everything from increased emphasis on math and science to extracurricular leadership opportunities; from computer instruction to modern literature and more.

Stephens County High School, first accredited in 1932, merged with Toccoa High School in 1971 and moved into the existing THS building. The board of education completed a new $43 million high school campus in 2012.

The high school offers Pre-AP and AP classes in all four academic areas and has an outstanding Career, Technical and Agriculture Educational Center. CTAE offers classes in automotives, business, construction, cosmotology, drafting, graphic arts, nursing, video editing and welding.
