Request for Bids
Demolition - 234 W. Whitman Street
This is an invitation for bids for complete demolition and removal of structure located at 234 W
Whitman Street, Toccoa, Georgia. The City Commission reserves the right to reject any bid that in its
sole discretion does not meet the objectives of the City of Toccoa.
Awarded bidder must hold a City Business license, obtain all proper permits, submit asbestos report,
and will be responsible for all utilities to be disconnected from the structure before demolition can
begin. All debris must go to an approved land field. After demolition any and all disturbed areas must
be seeded and mulched.
Bids must be sealed and submitted to the City of Toccoa in care of City Manager, Fredda Wheeler on
or before 10 o’clock a.m. on the 1st day of October, 2024. Bids will be open at that time in the City
Managers Conference Room on the 2 nd floor of City Hall.
Special notice should be given to the fact the City Commission reserves the right to accept or reject
any and all bid based on overall value due to the subjective nature of variables when comparing bids
for work. All work must begin with five days of bid award and be completed within 14 days. Any
extension of time line must be approved by City Manager

THE CITY OF TOCCOA RESERVES THE RIGHT, WITH OR WITH OUT NOTICE OR CAUSE,
TO ACCEPT ANY BID REGARDLESS OF THE AMOUNT THEREOF, TO WAIVE ANY
INFORMALITY OR IRREGULARITY NOT AFFECTED BY LAW; TO REJECT ANY BID, ANY
NUMBER OF BIDS OR ALL BIDS; TO NEGOTIATE WITH ANY BIDDER FOR A REDUCTION
OR ALTERATIONS IN BID; TO WAIVE OR INSIST UPON FORMAL REQUIREMENTS; TO
REJECT ALL BIDS AND TO CALL FOR ADDITIONAL BIDS UPON THE SAME OR
DIFFERENT INVITATION TO BID; TO BE THE SOLE JUDGE, IN ITS DISCRETION, OF ALL
QUESTIONS AS TO WHETHER OR NOT A BID COMPLIES WITH THE INVITATION TO BID;
AND AS TO THE QUALIFICATIONS OF A BIDDER.
